Be Where Discovery Starts - Google x YouTube

Lead Creative and Co-Director
The brief was to show how using Search and YouTube isn’t one-size-fits-all, it’s deeply personal. Your journey through Google is shaped by what you watch, what you click, where you are, and who you are. Discovery starts differently for everyone, yet the decisions we make are quietly guided by Google and YouTube in ways we don’t even realise. And sometimes those individual pathways still lead two completely different people to the exact same place.
The idea became a nod to how unpredictable and uniquely human search really is. You do you… while Google gently nudges you along the way.
As lead creative, the idea originally began as two office rivals turning up to the end-of-year office party in the same outfit. From there, it evolved through countless iterations. I genuinely wish we could’ve made all of them. Working with my creative partner, Tessa Chong, to dream up all the scenarios was wonderful, and this one was especially memorable because, as an internal production, I also stepped into the director’s chair and co-directed the spots with Zane Pearson.
